A Guide to 2025 World Masters Games: Multi-Sport Event in Taipei & New Taipei City

The World Masters Games (WMG) is an internationally acclaimed multi-sport event that takes place every four years. Hosted jointly by Taipei and New Taipei City, the WMG operates under the inspiring slogan “SPORTS beyond AGE! LIFE without LIMITs!” Unlike typical athletic competitions, the Games feature minimal entry requirements, welcoming all individuals aged 30 and above to participate without stringent qualifications. Emphasizing the principles of “lifelong sports” and “sports for all,” the WMG also serves as a significant global benchmark for sports tourism.

Upon successful registration, athletes receive:

  • A welcome pack
  • Entry tickets to the welcome and farewell ceremonies
  • Entry ticket to the welcome party
  • Entry tickets to other related activities of the game

Online registration as team

1. WMG comprises “Individual” and “Pair/Team” events. Teams must have a “team name” while Pair names are not required.

2. After selecting the sports, disciplines, and events, choose to create a pair or join a pair. You can also search for teammates in the system or look for “IMGA Masters Games: Complete a team” club on Facebook to find your teammates.

3. After confirming that all Pair/Team members have completed the payment, the admin member who created the Pair/Team must click the “Submit the Pair/Team” button to have a quota place of the sport allocated to the Pair/Team.

Warm-up series events

1. Athlete training courses

Training courses for a total of 54 sport disciplines are planned and offered for free, after you complete registration for official events of the 2025 WMG. Experienced coaches will be provided. Athletes who want to improve their competition performance and skills can all sign up.

2. Warm-up (test) competitions

In keeping with the age categories and competitive frameworks of each sport, our events aim to foster an entertaining experience at the venue by utilizing sophisticated event models and expert personnel. We encourage all participants to enter the competitions to sharpen their skills and connect with suitable teammates, all in preparation for the official 2025 World Masters Games events.
